The Man in Black: A Tribute to Johnny Cash at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents The Man In Black, a tribute concert, on Sunday, February 21, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Shawn Barker pays tribute to Johnny Cash’s legendary catalog, recreating classics like “Ring of Fire,” “Highwayman,” “I Walk the Line,” “God’s Gonna Cut You Down,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “The Ballad of Boot Hill,” with a deep baritone voice that captures the Man in Black’s raw power and storytelling. After learning to sing in his local gospel choir and returning from Army service, Barker taught himself guitar and honed his craft by imitating icons such as Elvis, Roy Orbison, and Cash himself.

What began as an Elvis-impersonation hobby evolved into a full-time career as one of today’s most acclaimed Johnny Cash tribute artists, delighting fans coast to coast with performances that keep the legend’s spirit alive.

Local Box Office: As of August 1, 2025, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box office is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week, and they sell tickets to performances at PVCH and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
