Presented by the St. Johns County Library, a fourth-generation Floridian brings Martha Jane Pacetti to life in this one-woman performance on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Reservations are required for this free performance.

Dianne Jacoby is a historical dramatist who has taken on the personas of historical figures from four centuries. She is an adjunct professor at Stetson University and coordinates the university's Roadscholar programs. Dianne brings history alive through costume, speech, stories, and dialect. 

On July 18, Dianne will introduce the audience to Martha Jane Pacetti, a Florida Cracker who lived through the Indian Wars and the Civil War, meeting noteworthy individuals and having tragic and amusing adventures. Martha Jane, Florida Cracker, shares stories about her brief childhood, her marriage at 14, and the fishing guide business she and her husband ran.

Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks is located at 184 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida 32084.

While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit Only. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)
