Old School Kingfish Shootout 2027

With a mission to "make king fishing great again," the Old School Kingfish Shootout begins with a captain's meeting on Friday, June 11, 2027, and concludes with an awards party on Sunday morning. Both of those events are at Ancient City Farmstead, 395 St Marks Pond Blvd, St. Augustine, Florida.

On Saturday, June 12, 2027, the tournament headquarters and weigh-in are on the Vilano Bridge Pier. Fish within the tournament's boundary from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2027. Weigh-in is from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Vilano Beach Pier, also on the 12th. The Awards Party is on June 13, 2027, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Ancient City Farmstead.

The Tournament

• This event has limited boundaries, in state waters (3 nautical miles from shore), from St. Simons Island to New Smyrna Beach.
• Live bait penning or purchasing is not permitted.
• Prizes
  • Cash payout to 25 places. 
  • Prizes for lady anglers and junior anglers
  • First place wins a 21-foot Yellowfin Bay Boat, with a 200HP 4-Stroke outboard, and trailer.

Event Details

Registration: In 2026, the entry fee was $250.00 through May 31, $350.00 through June 11, and $400.00 on June 12, 2026. Registration is not open as of July, 2026. 

When: Fishing is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 12, 2027. 

• A captain's meeting takes place on June 11, 2027, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
• Weigh-in is on June 12, 2027, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m.
• The awards ceremony is on Sunday, June 13, 2027, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
