Praised by journalists, Andy Whitman, David Brias, and the Boston Herald, Brooks launched his career in the '80s, joining his father's band and making waves with the release of Live From Chicago: Bayou Lightning Strikes.

After collaborating with legends like Elvin Bishop and Lil' Ed Williams, Brooks continued his rise, creating Gold Digger with input from Janet Jackson.
