Spud Run & Cabbage Crawl 2026

Farm Bureau Insurance presents the Spud Run & Cabbage Crawl at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026. This annual event in Hastings celebrates the city's agricultural contributions. Race proceeds benefit agricultural education efforts, such as 4-H, Future Farmers of America, and Farm City Week.

This year's race includes 5K, 10K, and 15K courses, and a Cabbage Crawl kids run. The 5K and 10K courses are USATF-certified and professionally timed and scored. This event is part of Hastings' annual Cabbage, Potato, & Bacon Festival. 

(15K participants must run in the 10K portion of the race and finish it before the 5K start time to compete in the 15K race.)

Beneficiary

Funds raised from this race benefit programs promoting agricultural education, such as 4-H, Future Farmers of America, and Farm City Week. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Putnam - St. Johns County Farm Bureau. 

Event Details

Registration: Register online early to take advantage of lower fees. Prices will increase after February 28.

• 5K - $30.00
• 10K - $40.00
• 15K - $45.00 NOTE: The 5K is not a separate race. You must run in both the 5K and the 10K.

Packet Pickup: 

• Pre-race packet pickup is on Friday, April 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Location TBA.
• Race-day packet pickup starts at 6:00 a.m. on April 25.

When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, the 10K race starts at 7:00 a.m., and the 5K race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Race Timing and Scoring: Hasselmania Productions will time and score the race using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number.
