The St. Augustine Police Benevolent Organization will host its first annual Thin Blue Line Golf Tournament in support of St. Augustine's officers and their families. The golf tournament will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, and its proceeds will benefit St. Augustine policemen and women, as well as their families, especially in times of need.
Teams of four and individual players are invited to register, and up to 120 golfers may participate. This tournament will feature 18 holes of golf in "Scramble Format," meaning that each player on the teams of four will hit a tee shot at each hole, and then the rest of the team will play from the spot of the best shot. Individual players will be placed on teams for the tournament. Participants will receive a Thin Blue Line t-shirt and dinner following the tournament.
The St. Augustine Police Benevolent organization was formed in the 1950s to assist officers and their families in times of need. The organization has expanded to also benefit local organizations including the Arc of St. Johns County, which provides services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as the St. Johns County Education Foundation.
