Meet and greet with famed treasure hunter, Marc Anthony at the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum's "Meet the Treasure Hunters" series. Visitors will also have an opportunity to get their own items appraised by this well-known salvage expert.

About the Treasure Hunter, Marc Anthony: He is a noted treasure diver and dealer in sunken treasure and antique weaponry. Anthony is founder of the "Treasures by Marc Anthony" retail store and has been finding hidden treasures since the age of 17.

He has dived at many remarkable shipwrecks including the 1622 wreck site of the 'Nuestra Senora de Atocha', which was a Spanish galleon ship (much like the replica Spanish ship, El Galeon, in port at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina). The 'Atchoa' was wrecked off the coast of the Florida Keys while carrying copper, gold, various gems and jewels, silver, and indigo from Spanish ports at Cartagena and Porto Bello in New Grenada.

Anthony's career in treasure diving took off when he met Mel Fisher and his family who gave Anthony an opportunity to work with his own boat and crew. This led to the eventual opening of his store in the nation's oldest city. The shop has became one of the most famous treasure salvage and retail locations in the United States.

St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum will host Anthony as their guest treasure diver on the February 7th's First Friday Artwalk. Visitors may bring any treasures of their own to be assessed and appraised by Anthony. Those who do wish to bring in their own treasures should send an email with a picture of the item to be appraised and a brief description to [email protected].
