The St. Augustine Amphitheatre presents New Orleans funk masters Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue live in concert at the Backyard Stage on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
Trombone Shorty started his career as a bandleader at the age of six. He spent his teens playing with various brass bands and touring internationally with musician Lenny Kravitz. He performed at the White House in honor of Black History Month and had been featured on national television.
NPR called Trombone Shorty "New Orleans' brightest new star in a generation," and New York Magazine commented that “Trombone Shorty takes in a century-plus worth of sounds – ragtime and jazz and gospel and soul and R&B and hip-hop – and attacks everything he plays with festive fervor.”
