Velo Fest

This two-day festival is full of fun for bicyclists of all ages, with bike races, live music, a bike rodeo, and more.

The 4th Annual VeloFest takes place in Vilano Beach on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9, 2015. The St. Augustine festival is designed to promote the healthy activity of cycling by focusing on safety and building a cooperative environment between cyclists and drivers.

The event kicks off on Friday with a late afternoon parade and music on the beach in the evening, with performances by the WillowWacks and Sea Floor Explosives. There will be sidewalk chalk drawing and bicycle decorating for the kids.

The Saturday festivities will take place on the Intracoastal side of Vilano Beach, around the Fishing Pier. There will be a bike rodeo, with helmet fittings and free helmets (kids who bring their own helmets will get a free popsicle from Hyppo), kids fishing on the pier, and special treats for all the mothers in the crowd. The Kids Race will take place at 1 p.m.

Admission: The Velo Fest is free.

When? Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9, 2015. Friday: Bike Parade at 5:45 p.m. Music on the beach from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday: Bike Rodeo at 10:00 a.m. Race at 1:00 p.m.

Where? Friday's events will take place at the Vilano Beach Oceanfront Pavilion, located at   2724 Anahma Drive, and Saturday's events will be at the Vilano Fishing Pier at 260 Vilano Road.
