Walk With Us to Prevent Suicide
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the St. Augustine Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts not a run, but a fundraising walk, to raise money for suicide prevention.
These walks are held around the country to raise funds and help people find a supportive community in their town. The walks are from one to three miles and are not competitive. The organizers will release the exact route from and back to historic downtown's Francis Field well before the event. There will be an opening ceremony, resource tables, and activities that promote home and healing. Every participant receives honor beads. The beaded necklaces have specific colors representing a particular loss and to support and honor select groups. You may choose a set (or sets) of beads to symbolize your experience.
Beneficiary
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The organization strives to save lives and to bring hope to those impacted by suicide. They fund research, training for people working in suicide prevention, and work to find ways to reach out to those at risk.
