John Alison
Having brought together flat picking, jazzy rock, bluegrass and classical music to the St. Augustine area, John Alison will be greatly missed.
It is with great sadness that we report that John Alison passed away in March, 2023. John played around the St. Augustine area, bringing together flat picking, jazzy rock, bluegrass and classical. As an award-winning flatpicker, he played with the best, and in addition to his love of playing, John taught guitar, mandolin, and bass. John was heard at music festivals such as the Florida Folk Festival, the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival, the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park as well as Concerts in the Plaza, and every First Friday Art Walk could be heard at the Georgia Nick Gallery on Aviles Street.
