John Winters
After touring extensively, opening for James Taylor, this musician now plays locally.
Over the years, John Winters has established himself as a singer, musician, and songwriter. In his earlier years, Winters consistently performed solo and as a part of a couple of rock bands. After 1989, he moved to St. Augustine and plunged into the local music scene, and has been playing in the area ever since.
In the 70s, John Winters opened for James Taylor, Jonathan Edwards, and Aztec Two-Step. Around the same time, he traveled the Northeast with two other rock bands, and in the 80s he played at clubs and toured with an acoustic duo and trio, Beat Feat, and Carter and Winters, which earned him several awards in American Songwriting Festival competitions.
Since moving to St. Augustine, he has performed at the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival and several venues in town, performing as a solo act and with other singers.
