Raised in Galway on Ireland's rugged west coast, Patrick O'Flaherty's native language is Gaelic, and he's one of a handful of musicians who still compose songs in that language.

Proficient in several instruments, Patrick is recognized for his skills on the Irish mandolin and harmonica and is highly respected for his accomplishments on the button accordion and banjo.

He has been a member of two outstanding Celtic bands, The Celtic Folk and The Poor Clares, and performed in his native country with his brother, Danny O'Flaherty, as the O'Flaherty Brothers. They still get together and delight audiences in Ireland when Patrick goes home for a visit.

As a solo artist and with the bands, Patrick has performed throughout Ireland and the U.S., and beyond. He has played at the National Press Club, Notre Dame University, and festivals in New Orleans and St. Maarten. A long-time resident of the U.S., Patrick moved between St. Augustine and Virginia for several years, performing at favorite Irish pubs in both locations. In 2025, he moved to New Orleans.
