Potato Heads
This band is always fun, open to a jam, and plays music from the early 1900s to today.
As a band, Potato Heads has so far kept a fairly low profile, playing most often for local fundraisers at various venues. These four musicians have several other musical obligations. For example, all play with the large pickup band known as the Free Ragers, Kilo is one of the founding members of Cosmoshead, Leslie Lacika is one of the two members of Not Your Grandmother's Quilt, and Alex Richman makes the keyboard rock with Not Quite Dead.
All of them bring their experience with old-time folk and bluegrass, electronic music, rock and roll, and jam bands, and their set list reflects this. Simply put, you can't pigeonhole Potato Heads into a genre unless there's a genre for bands having too much fun on stage. That, and their willingness to include other musicians in their jam, is why a Potato Heads performance brings out local music lovers and other musicians. They all know the next few hours will be a good time for listening, dancing, and occasionally singing along.
As of April, 2026, Potato Head listed four members: Kilo on guitar and vocals, Richman on keyboards and vocals, Lacika on upright bass and vocals, and Steve Mullen on drums. If you go, you'll hear songs familiar to your grandparents, songs you know and love, and at least a few originals.
