Pelindaba Lavender is a shop selling oils, scented items, and herbal remedies featuring the lavender plant. They promote the various uses and health benefits of lavender and the shop is filled with soaps, candles, and other items to create a relaxing home atmosphere with the flowery plant.
All of the plants are directly sourced from a lavender field in Washington state (lavender does not typically grow well in Florida's climate and soil). The Pelindaba Fields were first cultivated in 1999. Pelindaba is a Zulu word meaning "place of great gatherings" and points to the owner's South African roots.
When you walk in the shop, video monitors showcase scenes from the Lavender field in Washington. The room is decorated with lavender and the smell eminates all around. Products are sorted on shelves and displayed on tables, and pamphlets are available with additional information on lavender.
Pelindaba Lavender is located in a shop space accessible from Hypolita Street. It's in the 2 story building across from the Columbia Restaurant.
