St. Anastasia Catholic Church
St. Anastasia Catholic Church's design reflects the Spanish heritage of St. Augustine with its coquina exterior, Spanish tile roofs, and the decorative stone facings. A 57 foot high bell tower graces the church and may be seen from miles away. The bell tower and (carillon) is one of approximately 200 in the United States. A time capsule - to be opened in the year 2049 - is located in the altar platform and contains local community and church memorabilia since 1985. The round rose window above the tabernacle depicts the resurrection as “Anastasis” in Greek means resurrection. The angel window between the altar and the tabernacle chapel is made of beveled glass and reflects the morning sun throughout the church.
Visitors can contact the office directly at (904) 471-5364 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays to inquire about mass and special events.
