Ancient City Poets hosts their annual “Come in Costume” open mic on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine Waterworks.

All are invited to attend and listen to local poets read their poems. Poets are welcome to share their newest work or a polished poem.

Costumes will be judged, with prizes in three categories: Best Literary Costume, Most Creative, and Best Teen Costume. The winners of the costume awards will receive a book by a local author.

This free event takes place at The Waterworks. Sign-up begins at 2:30, and the readings start at 3:00 p.m. The first 15 names on the sign-up sheet will be called in the order they appear on the list.

The Ancient City Poets was founded in 2009 by poet Chris Bodor, the editor-in-chief of the literary journal A.C. PAPA. (Ancient City Poets, Authors, Photographers, and Artists)

Admission: Free and open to all members of the public.

When: October 29, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The doors open at 2:30 p.m., and those who wish to read a poem may sign the sheet at the entrance. The readings start at 3:00 p.m., and the first 15 names on the sheet will be called up to the stage in order.
