Please Note: This event is from 2022

The Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center will host a new art exhibit featuring work by local artist Theresa Segal. The Lincolnville Thru Time exhibit will be displayed during regular museum hours, 10:30 am. to 4:30 p.m., through Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Segal is a southern photographer who earned Bachelor of Arts in Art from Flagler College and studied photography at the Southeast Center for Photography at Daytona State College and the University of North Florida. Born in St. Augustine in 1965, Segal has lived in Lincolnville for more than 30 years with her husband and sculptor Joe Segal.

Lincolnville Thru Time is a collection of photographs by Segal that are predominantly black & white images including houses, streetscapes and public spaces with a distinct Southern Gothic aesthetic. Photographic prints accompanied by a digital display span the 1990s and following decades. The images focus on light and form, often creating tableaus that evoke the neighborhood's intangible character. There are no people in the photographs but the evidence of them furthers the perception of memory.

Segal's work has been shown in museums throughout the State of Florida including Lightner Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and the Foosaner Art Museum in Melbourne, where 20 of her photographs are part of their permanent collection.
