A Classic Theatre: Grand Horizons

Three days a week, from Friday, September 11, through Sunday, September 20, 2026, A Classic Theatre presents a fully staged production of Grand Horizons at the St. Augustine Waterworks. The performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, at 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. 

The Play

Nominated for a Tony Award in 2020, Grand Horizons was described as "A clever truth bomb of a play...a terrific comedy," by the New York Times. Two of the lead characters, Bill and Nancy, announce their divorce while at the Grand Horizons retirement community, stunning their adult sons and pregnant daughter-in-law, and pulling their other son's male hookup into the tempest. 

As one would expect, the sedate retirement community becomes the setting for a sharp, witty, and revealing family comedy.

Admission: Tickets are $25.00 for general admission and $15.00 for students with a valid ID. Purchase tickets online in advance.

Season Tickets: Season tickets include entry into all four main shows and one of the four staged readings. A season ticket is $90.00 per person. Learn more and purchase a season ticket.

Getting There: While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit-Only, so it is not available to access the Waterworks. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot, on the opposite side of the complex. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)
