The Play

A Classic Theatre presents Home, I'm Darling, a contemporary play by Laura Wade, that debuted in London's West End in 2018. The play is presented on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from October 3 to October 12, 2025. The times vary by the day of the week.

Home I'm Darling opens in a stereotypical 1950s home with a stereotypical lovey-dovey 50s-style couple: Judy, a stay-at-home wife, and her working husband, Alex. Very early, we learn that this modern couple is living Judy's impossible fantasy of life as she perceives it used to be in the 50s. This dark comedy adeptly examines several themes: our infatuation with nostalgia, misogyny, equality, and how each of us can try on a new identity in search of a better life. 

This production contains adult themes and language.

Admission: In the 2025/26 season, tickets are $22.00 for general admission.

When:  October 3 - 12, 2025, 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and Sunday matinees are 2:00 p.m. 

Where: The St. Augustine Waterworks, 184 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida 32084. See below for directions by vehicle.

Getting There: While the address is 184 San Marco Avenue, the only driveway on San Marco is Exit Only, so it is not available to access the Waterworks. Access to the Waterworks is through the St. Augustine Main Library parking lot, on the opposite side of the complex. (Use 1960 North Ponce de Leon in your GPS.)

A Classic Theatre chose a collection of four plays focused on relationships, their importance, and how connections with others influence our lives. 

• October 3 - 12, 2025: Home, I'm Darling
• December 5 - 14, 2025: Miracle on 34th Street
• March 6 - 15, 2026: Butterflies Are Free
• May 1 - 10, 2026: Rounding Third
