The EMMA Concert Series presents the New York Philharmonic String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2027, at Lewis Auditorium. This is the third concert in EMMA's 2026/27 season.

About This Concert

The New York Philharmonic celebrated the orchestra's 175th anniversary season in 2017, and as part of that celebration, four of the orchestra's principal musicians formed this quartet. The lead violinist is Orchestra Concertmaster Frank Huang. The three other members are Quanqian Li, Principal of the Second Violin group; Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps; and Principal Cello Carter Brey. As individual musicians, all four have won several awards. Each has performed as lead soloist with the New York Philharmonic and with other orchestras around the world.

This nonprofit volunteer organization strives to present music and dance performances at an affordable price. In addition, EMMA provides funds, equipment, and instruments to various school programs in St. Johns County.
