Flagler Colleges Spring Community Lecture Series will host local experts and Flagler College professors who will focus on the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Dr. Felix Livingston will present his lecture on "Economic Freedom and Civil Rights". This lecture will include insight from French political philosopher Baron de Montesquieu who asserted that humans may flourish in society when there is a diffusion of power.
This lecture will educate listeners on the relationship between the economic and political systems in America and their influence on civil and human rights. Dr. Livingston will touch on the reality of social life and that economic freedom is essential for political freedom. This lecture will help the audience to understand the country's economic history and how this history affects every Americans daily life.
