Gerald Branch exhibition at Butterfield Art Gallery will feature Branch's brilliant mixed-media artwork that highlights personal reflections and experiences. Branch was an art teacher and school administrator in Philadelphia and his artwork reflects the influence of working as an educator.

Mr. Branch uses his artwork to depict his journey as an African-American man. He depicts significant African-American stereotypes through his artwork, various events and circumstances, as well as demonstrates man's inhumanity to their fellow man. Branch hopes to stimulate critical thinking through his pieces.

His artwork utilizes a mixed-media technique which combines collage, painting, drawing, as well as incorporating different shapes and forms. Branch's artwork all form symbolic and deliberate imagery to instill deeper meaning into his compositions.
