The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center hosts Jazz at the Excelsior with Erick Carter, guitarist, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was formerly the historic Excelsior High School, the first public high school for African-Americans in St. Augustine. Lincolnville Jazz at the Excelsior features talented artists performing in the renovated second-floor gathering space at 102 M.L.K., Jr. Avenue. (There is an elevator.)
The May Program
Originally from southern Florida, Eric Carter started playing guitar when he was only two, and performed his first gig at 13. Since then, he has had a varied and successful career as a musician, performing on the same stages as Al Green, Paul Jackson, Jr., and George Benson. While Carter's first love may be the blues, he is also an exceptional jazz guitarist.
Carter now lives in Jacksonville, performing often in jazz bars there, and with young students who excel at performing jazz and blues numbers.
