Juneteenth at LMCC: The Mahoganee Xperience

The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center welcomes the public to The Mahoganee Xperience on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.

A distinguished artist with 30 years of experience, Mahoganee is a Gullah Geechee singer, songwriter, and poet. She creates a fusion of blues, hip-hop, African, and Caribbean-inspired music.

Mahoganee's soft and soulful voice tells stories of acceptance, pride, love, strength, and heritage. With a strong fanbase and touring from coast to coast to perform for thousands in festivals and events, Mahoganee is a force in the music industry.

Some of her music projects include 1619, In Open Fields, Grandma's Listenin', Collard Green Crown, and Textures of a Southern Soul.

Mahoganee received awards from the Mid-Atlantic Songwriter's Association and the South Carolina Arts Commission and was given a scholarship by The Riley Institute at Furman University.

In celebration of Juneteenth (a federal holiday that celebrates the emancipation of Black people from slavery in the United States), the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center is hosting a series of community events.
