2015 Kentucky Derby Viewing Party

The 141st Kentucky Derby, (Run for the Roses) from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky comes to St. Augustine at this fun, adults-only viewing party. The St. Augustine/St. Johns County Advisory Council of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida will hosts this Derby Run event.
There will be complimentary mint julep drinks included with admission as well as fun 50/50 drawings and silent auctions. Guests to this event can also enjoy a cash bar, great food, a live band, big screen viewing of the Kentucky Derby with pre- and post-race coverage and good-natured charity betting.
Prizes will be handed out for multiple categories such as; the Winning Horse, Trifecta Box, Best Women’s Hat, and Best Men’s Accessory. Guests to this event can view this exciting race while helping to support the local Community Hospice. This event will be hosted at the Tringali Barn on South US 1 in St. Augustine. All proceeds from this event stay in the St. Augustine and St. Johns County community to provide quality hospice care.
About the Kentucky Derby: This annual event held its inaugural race in 1875 and has since been regarded as one of the premier thoroughbred horse races in the world. The race is known as the “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports,” for its approximate duration. The race is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race is one and a quarter miles (2 km) at Churchill Downs. Colts and geldings carry 126 pounds (57 kilograms) and fillies 121 pounds (55 kilograms).
