904-770-3250 Adjacent to the Plaza de la Constitucion
48 King Street
St. Augustine, FL 32084
The Governor's House Cultural Center and Museum, 48 King Street, has created a special display honoring historic preservation in St. Augustine. From September 12, 2025, through the middle of April 2026, the smaller exhibit room honors the ongoing efforts to collect and preserve the records and artifacts of the past.
For many years, generations of St. Augustine citizens and scholars have worked to find and preserve bits of St. Augustine's History. Now, as the city celebrates its 460th year, Historic St. Augustine has created a display showing how artifacts from hundreds of years ago were depicted during the city's 400th anniversary in 1965.
During the 400th, actors and reenactors showed how silversmiths, cigar makers, and others operated their daily tasks. Other displays show how preservationists catalogued historic buildings, and how those buildings have been repaired and maintained.
Admission: Free
When: The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The exhibit will be shown through April 2026.
