Please Note: This event is from 2021

Just in time for the holidays, the Limelight Theatre will bring some family fun to the stage with its rendition of the classic, A Christmas Story.

The play will run from Thursday, December 2, to Thursday, December 23, 2021, on the Matuza Main Stage.

A stage musical version of the 1983 film A Christmas Story, the play features music and lyrics written by Pasek and Paul. The libretto was written by Tony Award nominee Joseph Robinette.

Set in 1940s Indiana, the story follows a 9-year-old boy named Ralphie who wants nothing but a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, but everybody says the same thing: "You'll shoot your eye out."

Audiences will take a trip down memory lane with the Parker family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking and Ralphie's fantasy scenarios.
