Limelight Theatre presents the play, Love Letters, from Sunday, February 11, through Wednesday, February 14, at 7:30 p.m. This event will be held in Limelight's Koger-Gamache Black Box Theatre.

Written by A. R. Gurney, the play has only two characters: Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd, III, who met briefly as young adults and wrote letters to each other for nearly 50 years. The actors sit together on stage, reading the letters, notes, and cards they had sent to each other over four decades. In those letters, they share their joys, sorrows, successes, and disappointments.

The play debuted off-Broadway in March of 1989, where it ran for 64 performances, on Sundays and Mondays only, and changing the cast weekly. The play opened on Broadway in October of the same year, with Colleen Dewhurst and Jason Robards in the lead roles. The play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and has been a favorite with actors because they don't have to memorize lines, and can perform it with little preparation. Edward Herrmann, Timothy Hutton, Martin Sheen, Candice Bergen, Anjelica Huston, and Stockard Channing are among the many actors who have performed in Love Letters.

Admission:  Ticket prices are $30.00 for adults, $28.00 for seniors, and $25.00 for members of the military or students.
