Living History Day at the Ximenez-Fatio House, partnered with the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council will feature re-enactments portraying 19th century life.
Seventh - ninth grade Girl Scout students and a few volunteers will be the re-enactors in this program sponsored by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida. Visitors can come to the museum and see the Girl Scouts portray life as it was in a 19th century boarding house. The girls will be in period dress and performing various authentic activities.
Visitors can expect live re-enactments in each room of the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum and on the grounds. Watch as history comes to life at this Living History day!
History of the Ximenez-Fatio House: The Ximenez-Fatio House dates back 1798 when Andres Ximenez and his wife Juana built the home. The home was purchased by Margaret Cook in 1830 after Florida became a U.S. territory. The home was then purchased by Louisa Fatio in 1855, who had previously operated 2 boarding houses. This historic home has changed many hands and remains a figure of the city's past.
