M. Ward

M. Ward is the indie singer/songwriter from the group She & Him with Zooey Deschanel and the Monsters of Folk group. Ward comes to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and the unique group Mount Moriah will open the show.

M. Ward is a talented singer/songwriter who became a popular performer on the Portland, Oregon music scene. After gaining a large following on Portland Ward began making records, and released his first, Duet of Guitars #2, in 1999. He has since released seven other studio albums and worked on collaborations with many different artists.

Ward has worked with many talented artists including Cat Power, Neko Case, Beth Orton, and many others. His unique voice and talent lend an amazing and powerful addition to any recording. In 2006 Ward began working with actress, Zooey Deschanel, and their band, She & Him later evolved.

Monsters of Folk, the project Ward and singer/songwriter Conor Oberst began, finally released their self-titled debut album in September 2009. The band also includes Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes. Ward's performances are electric and excited the audience!

Mount Moriah is an eclectic band that performs music that combines all genres of music including rock, pop, country, folk, Americana, and more. The band has released two studio albums since they formed and continue to release evocative and contemporary music. The band is fronted by Heather McEntire and includes Jenks Miller and Casey Toll.

Where? The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall located at 1050 A1A North Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.

When? April 30, 2014 at 8 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m.

Parking Information: Parking will be available onsite. There will be a $5 parking fee for ticketed events and for free events parking will also be free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees will be at the discretion of the event producer.
