To celebrate St. Augustine's Latin culture, the St. Johns Cultural Council will host Music Under the Moon from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, in historic downtown.
Taking place on Halloween weekend as part of the celebration of October's National Arts & Humanities Month, the evening will showcase the sounds of Caribe Groove, a Latin fusion band and the Mariachi group, Mariachi Primera Costa.
The Mariachi group will stroll the central part of the Historic District from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The band Caribe Groove will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Plaza de la Constitucion gazebo.
Formed in 2017, Caribe Groove is a local band from Jacksonville. The members are originally from different countries: Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The band's music gets its influence from a wide variety of modern genres including rock, funk and hip-hop combined with traditional Latin genres including Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Latin Jazz and Afro-Latin rhythms.
Costumes are encouraged.
