Romanza Presents...
Yael ZaZa Flemenca performing a program of distinctly American music, arranged with Latin rhythms and Brazilian influences on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., at the First Congregation Sons of Israel, 161 Cordova Street in St. Augustine.
About This Concert
A composer, singer, actress, and musician, Yael "Zaza" Flemenca has roots in France and Israel and has performed worldwide, singing in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and Hebrew. Her music spreads across many genres, including Gypsy Jazz, French music, Flamenco, Jazz, and Latin. Yael earned a Master of Jazz Music at Queens College in New York in 2014.
Now a resident of St. Augustine, Zaza is a frequent performer at local venues and festivals. To celebrate America's 250th, and the music that has influenced so many, she performs old American classics, such as "Sixteen Tons," and "Tennessee Waltz," playing them with Latin rhythms in arrangements inspired by music around the world. These "old favorites" are transformed into a lively, cross-cultural concert.
Admission: Free.
When: Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
Where: First Congregation Sons of Israel is located at 161 Cordova Street in the Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine, Florida 32084.
