Local and Regional Showcase
The Gamble Rogers Folk Festival has partnered with the Sing Out Loud Festival to present a weekend of music at the Waterworks. On Saturday and Sunday, several groups and solo artists play in successive sets, and you may choose to stop in to listen to a few of them, or settle into your seat and enjoy the entire show.
The collaboration celebrates St. Augustine's Gamble Rogers — songwriter, storyteller, guitarist, and recording artist. The weekend opens on Friday with a ticketed concert by one of the region's favorite bluegrass bands, Remedy Tree.
Saturday's concerts feature some of the favorite local and regional performers heard at the yearly Gamble Rogers Festival.
On Sunday, the performers are lesser-known, talented young people—the next generation of singers, songwriters, and performers in several genres, from bluegrass to jazz. Sunday starts with a workshop by Del Suggs, an award-winning songwriter, educator, author, and musical artist. His workshop is titled: "Making a Career in the Arts."
