St. Augustine Arts Association presents the art of David Ouellette, abstract paintings with movement and feeling, and evocative of a classical concerto. Like music, these works give "more of a sensation than a description."
David Ouellette earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Painting at Detroit's Wayne State University. He taught and exhibited in Detroit before moving to St. Augustine in 1981. For 26 years, he was a professor of Fine Art at the Florida School of Arts and now teaches Art History at Flagler College's ACE program. He has continued his career as an artist, describing his work as "modern." The abstract, colorful works take planning and careful thought, much like composing a concerto.
