Spring Concert

The Saint Augustine Community Chorus will present their Spring Concert, titled, Fiesta! This performance will include classical Latin compositions.

Saint Augustine Community Orchestra will present their Spring Concert, ¡Fiesta! The 2014 Spring Concert will feature beautiful, Latin music from all over the world including Spain, Mexico, Cuba, and Argentina.

William McNeiland will conduct this spring concert with assistance from the guest conductor, Paul Williamson, the St. Augustine Director of Public Affairs. This scintillating concert will include music from many talented and well-known composers including the French composer Emmanual Chabrier and his Espana Rhapsody, the Russian composer Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and his piece Capriccio Espagnol, as well as the ballet suite by Alberto Ginastera. The Danza de Trigo (Wheat Dance) and Danza Final (Malambo), also from Alberto Ginastera will be featured in this performance.

David la Mora, formerly of the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba and violinist with the St. Augustine Orchestra will conduct the Andalucía Suite which was originally composed by Cuban-born composer Ernesto Lecuona.

Also, a mariachi group, "Los Muchachos de San Juan" will make its premier appearance at the spring concert. They will play popular Mexican songs including Cielito Lindo and Alla en el Rancho Grande! Visitors can come see the spring concert from the Saint Augustine Community Orchestra and enjoy a fun fiesta!  There will be two performances of the concert; one on Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m. and an encore performance on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. in Ponte Vedra.
