Ya Gozo the Latin Jazz Band

Ya Gogo the Latin Jazz Band makes old jazz standards swing with a Latin Beat.

Ya Gozo the Latin Jazz Band has performed in Northeast Florida for over 20 years, including a performance in the St. Augustine Plaza in 2000.

As bands do, some former members have rotated out and new artists have joined the band. They bring new skills and instrumentation, but Ya Gozo the Latin Jazz Band still performs jazz favorites with a strong Latin flavor. This band's sound comes from their excellent instrumentation, led by the large rhythm section.

The members include Alcides "Tito" Ortiz on drums and timbales, Alfredo Oliveros on Bass, Ramon Martin on Congas, Julio Bello on Piano, Felix Colon on Percussion, Neil Champagne on Guitar and Trumpet, and Miguel Alvarado on Sax.

Songs in their repertoire include "Song for My Father" by Horace Silver, "My Funny Valentine" by Rogers & Hart, "Autumn Leaves" by Juseph Kosmo, and "Europa" by Carlos Santana.

Ya Gozo the Latin Jazz Band performs at area venues, concerts, and private events.
