Written and directed by Nikolaj Arcel, this story is based in 18th-century Denmark. A poor soldier and explorer, Ludvig Kahlen, ventures out to carry out the king's orders to cultivate the land of Jutland. Tensions rise once the merciless landowner, Frederik De Schinkel, refuses to give up his land to the king. The two figures battle and Kahlen's life and the people around him are at risk.

The St. Augustine Film Society hosts a showing of The Salt of the Earth (2014) on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Waterworks. A guest speaker, Flagler College instructor Christopher LeClere, will lead a discussion after the film.

The Lightner Museum presents a new, ongoing exhibit, Riding High: Vintage Bicycles from the Keith Pariani Collection, beginning November 22, 2024. In 2023, a temporary exhibit of bicycles from Mr. Pariani's collection proved to be a huge hit with the Lightner's visitors.
