The Karpeles Manuscript Library, a family-owned non-profit, has museums all over the country, preserving historical documents about literature, political history, science, music, art, science, and exploration. Founded by David and Marsha Karpeles in 1983, the mission remains the same—to promote history, learning, literacy, and to inspire curiosity. Reproductions are also found in mobile exhibits shared through certain libraries, schools, and private businesses.

Situated in Historic Downtown, this location presents the smallest walk-in museum, and displays a mini collection of historic materials, open to the public. Exhibits rotate throughout the year, and educational programs teach visitors about who and what shaped our past.

Another museum is opening across the street from the original. This building will be more spacious, with additional manuscripts, treaties, drawings, maps, letters, and musical compositions on display.

Entry is free for visitors and locals. Donations, volunteers, and sponsors are greatly appreciated on behalf of the Karpeles Family.

It's open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
