Family Fun and Safe Boating Fair

The 1st Annual Family Fun and Safe Boating Fair will be presented by the Flotilla 14-7 of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association. This fun day on the water will feature five different vessels, beach and boating safety presentations, music, food, and drinks, and fun!
Visitors can come out and tour the five vessels on display! The Flotilla Patrol boat from the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be on display and available for tours as well as a rescue boat from the U.S. Coast Guard Jax, a rescue boat and interdiction vessel from the National Marine Training Center, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department Marine 1, and St. Johns County Marine Rescue Personal Watercraft. Board and inspect each vessel at this boating event!
The St. Augustine Beach Police, newly accredited for water rescue, will share beach safety information. There will also be presentations on boating and swimming safety including informational displays on the importance of life jackets, navigation tips, hazards on the water, and more. Visitors can enjoy refreshments including coffee, Italian ice, lemonade and delicious BBQ! There will be music throughout the boating event as well.
The 2014 Family Fun Safe Boating Fair is part of the National Safe boating Week, as well as Romanza Festivale in St. Augustine. This event is free and open to the public.
