African Diasporan Hidden Kulture
To celebrate Juneteenth, the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center hosts four events in June.
June 16, Nola D. Oracle of Diaspora Whispers Studio
A veteran, entrepreneur, author, and business consultant, Nora D. Oracle is also a CEO of Diaspora Whispers Film Studio in Jacksonville. Her film, Disporans Hidden Kulture, offers an inspirational look at the many ways African Americans have positively contributed to the Kulture of Florida. She produced two films on this topic: African Diasporan Hidden Culture Part I: Jacksonville, Florida; and African Diasporan Hidden Culture Part II: San Marcos, Texas. In each film, Oracle journeys through the city to explore the city's hidden African American heritage and culture. The studio has also produced the ecodocumentary, The Secret Pollinators, and the short documentaries Ayiti: The Awakening and A Child Again.
The evening includes screenings of both the Texas and Jacksonville films.
