Anastasia Music Festival

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre will host the debut of the Anastasia Music Festival, a three-day celebration of bluegrass music, from Thursday, March 16 to Saturday, March 18, 2017.

The inaugural Anastasia Music Festival will feature nearly 20 acts, along with with camping, food trucks, and a family-friendly festival atmosphere. Single-day passes, three-day passes, and VIP passes are available.

Featured artists will include The Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, David Grisman's Bluegrass Experience, Cabinet, Elephant Revival, the Jeff Austin Band, and Joe Pug.

This brand new festival of bluegrass music has been put together by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, which owns the Amphitheatre. The rich history of bluegrass music lends itself perfectly to a traditional three-day festival, drawing music fans and families from all over.

The Del McCoury Band

With the authentic bluegrass sound that hard-core fans adore and the legendary status Del McCoury has earned with over 50 years of playing bluegrass, The Del McCoury Band has evolved into a modern phenomenon that has brought bluegrass music to the attention of a much larger audience. Del McCoury first played with the, Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in the early 1960s. McCoury is a living link between the hillbilly days of bluegrass and the new, far-ranging interest in the the genre.

David Grisman's Bluegrass Experience

Mandolinist/composer/bandleader/producer David Grisman is another long-time icon and guiding force in the bluegrass world. Grisman's musical range is wide and deep. He is a virtuoso in the world of acoustic music, combining elements of international sounds with his blend of the great American music forms of bluegrass and jazz. Jerry Garcia called his unique sound "Dawg" music. Grisman was active in the folk music scene of the early 1960s in Greenwich Village, and has played with the Kentuckians, the Even Dozen Jug Band, Old & In the Way, Earth Opera, and the Great American Music Band. David Grisman's Bluegrass Experience is a traditional group that includes Keith Little on 5-string banjo, guitar and vocals, Jim Nunally on guitar and vocals, Chad Manning on fiddle, Samson Grisman on bass, with David on mandolin and vocal.

Sam Bush

Sam Bush on stage is a sight to behold, full of light and energy and a musical fire that has established him as roots royalty, and earned him the nicknames Father of Newgrass and King of Telluride. He is revered for his solo performances as well as his  sideman work, which includes studio and stage time with Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett, and Bela Fleck. He was awarded the Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award, and has won numerous Grammys and International Bluegrass Music Association trophies.

Saturday, March 18: Grateful Ball with The Travelin' McCourys and Jeff Austin, Sam Bush, The Del McCoury Band, Cabinet, Fruition, The Jeff Austin Band, Sierra Hull, Mandolin Orange, The Jon Stickley Trio, Dustbowl Revival, The Broomestix, Joe Pugg, Taylor Martin, Nikki Talley, West King Band, Alastair - Byrd Revue, Robbie Dammit & The Broken Strings and Remedy Tree.

Admission: Single-day general admission passes are $50 per person for Thursday and $70.00 per person for Saturday or Sunday. Three-day Festival Passes are available for $135 if purchased in advance and $150 if purchased on the day of the show. There is also a VIP Pass available, which includes VIP viewing pit ticket, parking pass, laminate, bag, and VIP area with private bar and bathroom access, for $250.00. Visit here to purchase.

When: Thursday, March 16, to Saturday, March 18, 2017. Thursday: Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and music begins at 4:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday: Gates open at 11 a.m. and music begins at 12 noon.

Where: St. Augustine Amphitheatre is located at 1340 A1A South in St. Augustine, FL 32080.

Parking Information: The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is located on Anastasia Island next to Anastasia State Park. Limited paid parking is available in the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Main Lot, but only with advance purchase of a Premium Parking ticket. Free satellite parking areas are located within one mile of the Amphitheatre, at R.B. Hunt Elementary and at Anastasia State Park (see map below).

Shuttle Information: The St. Augustine Amphitheatre shuttle system begins its run 45 minutes prior to show time. The shuttle will pick up event patrons at four designated shuttle stops: the R.B. Hunt Elementary School Soccer Field, the west entrance of the Anastasia State Park Main Parking Lot, the Loop at the Anastasia State Park, and the entrance of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Shuttles will run continuously until approximately 45 minutes after the scheduled start time of a concert. For anyone wanting to leave prior to the end of a show, shuttles will begin taking people back to the satellite parking areas one hour before the event is over. The driver will not depart the Amphitheatre until the shuttle is more than 50% full.
