The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Florida Wildlife Commission to offer a freshwater Boating & Fishing Camp for middle school students. The camp will be held Monday through Friday, July 23 -27, 2018, at Trout Creek Community Center.

Campers must have completed 6th grade to be eligible for this camp, where they will learn boat safety skills and all about freshwater fishing. The camp will include details on the proper tackle to use and how to clean fish.

The program is limited to 20 campers. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The camp costs $170, which includes one rod and reel, tackle box, and tackle. For more details, call (904) 209-0348 or email here. Applications are downloadable here.

When: From 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 23 - 27, 2018.

Where: Trout Creek Community Center is located on the St. Johns River, west of St. Augustine, at 6795 Collier Rd. in Orangedale, FL 32092.
