First Coast Opera presents performances of Carmen on December 31, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., and on Friday and Sunday, January 2 and 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. All performances take place at Lewis Auditorium, 14 Granada Street. The opera is sung in French with English subtitles projected for the audience. These fully-staged performances include an orchestra, chorus, and children's chorus.

The four-act opera is set in Spain and relates the tale of Don José, who is seduced by the gypsy Carmen. The cast includes Sarah Nordin as Carmen, Matt Morgan as Don José, Luis Alejandro Orozco as Escamillo, and McKenna Slack as Micaëla. Mark Freiman performs in the role of Zuniga and is the company's stage director for the production. Curtis Tucker conducts.

First Coast Opera serves Northeast Florida with professional opera performances for the community's education, cultural enhancement, and enjoyment. They strive to offer artistic excellence and are committed to developing local talent.
