The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department offers a guided kayak trip in Hallowes Cove, Riverfront Park, 4065 State Road 13, St. Johns, Florida 32259, on Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This guided kayak trip welcomes beginner and experienced kayakers to explore the beautiful Hallowes Cove on the St. Johns River. A significant and beautiful habitat, Hallowes Cove is a sanctuary for manatees, alligators, and otters. As part of the Durbin Creek system, the area has abundant plant life, including cypress swamps, jardwood hammocks, and freshwater marshes. The area is a feeding and breeding ground for fish and shellfish.

A naturalist guides this kayak tour, offering tips and information about the Hallowes Cove ecosystem.

The Details

Admission: Register in advance for these tours. Fees are as follows:

  • SJC resident with their own kayak: $20.00 per person
  • Non-SJC resident with their own kayak: $30.00 per person
  • SJC County resident using a county boat: $40.00 per person
  • Non-SJC resident using a county boat: $50.00 per person

When: 

  • Friday, March 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Fees

Some programs are free to all, some are free to residents, and require everyone to pay a fee, though they may offer residents a discount.
