Bootleggers Ball

The Matanzas Bay Buccaneers pirate crew present The Bootleggers Ball, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. All are invited to dress for 1924, and enjoy, as they say, "a roaring good time." The event will be held at the Assembly Room for Art 'n Motion on San Marcos Avenue, and benefits Dreams Come True and the Greater St. Johns County Foster and Adoptive Parents Association.

The Buccaneers are planning a lively night with a speakeasy vibe and there will be music and dancing, games, live entertainment, raffles, a silent auction, and moonshine tasting. Food will be available and there will be a cash bar.

DJ Scotty will play jazz and swing tunes from the Roaring 20s, and experts will be on hand to teach the Charleston. Samples of legal moonshine will be available, as will a cash bar for those looking for more familiar drinks.

Keeping with the 1920s theme, the event includes a tap dance performance, a race the ponies game, and more.
