To celebrate Juneteenth, the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center hosts four events in June.
June 19, The Soul of Blackness: A Celebration of Juneteenth and Black History Month
Dr. Johnny Sanders, Ed.D., singer, songwriter, and media host, grew up in Miami in a home filled with gospel music. His church members and choir directors recognized his talent when he was very young. He shares the history of African American freedom through music and storytelling in this production.
Sanders has written several gospel songs and released a self-titled album in 2016. His music has reached the top of Gospel Airplay's Top Gospel Songs Chart, and he has performed worldwide.
This evening of entertainment includes a reception.
