Callum Toner started out just about as early as is humanly possible—in the crib. Early humming and singing led to the inevitable songwriting at age 10, after teaching herself ukulele, piano, and guitar. Toner acknowledges her "unique" vocals, and says that she began expanding her musical expertise so that she could begin gigging out, at any venue that would allow her to play.

It's a very sweet story of how the Little Mercies came together: each of the three had years of experience performing solo and with various quartets, orchestras, and bands, and then it came to them to join their talents and see if magic occurred.

Naming an early album Blight, which was built on his first single release, "Blight," he penned the work to critical acclaim, including Rolling Stone's Best New Country/Americana music on November 9, 2018.

Young Ben Kiser preserves traditional Appalachian tunes in his own archaic style. By playing the fiddle, banjo, and mountain dulcimer (fretted string instrument), he has brought forth the authentic sound of Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina's rural communities.
