The Oldest House Museum Complex hosts two special exhibits exploring the late 1800s when St. Augustine became a "winter colony" for wealthy tourists. Whether they visited for their health or simply on vacation, many affluent people from northern states would stay in the Ancient City during the cooler months (much like today's "snowbirds"). The exhibits run from Wednesday, April 17, through Monday, May 27, 2024 (Memorial Day).

On Friday, April 19, through Monday, October 14, 2024, the Lightner Museum presents The Hague School: The Second Golden Age of Dutch Painting.

Unlike the detailed realism and secular subjects that were the focus of the first golden age of Dutch paintings in the 17th century, The Hague School—a group of artists living in the Hague in the late 1800s—is known for atmospheric paintings of the countryside and the North Sea. The art from that era and locale became known as the Second Golden Age of Dutch Painting.
