Please Note: This event is from 2015.
A December to Remember fills the holiday season with fun, free events as well as special ticketed performances at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Community First Credit Union and the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division present a series of family-friendly winter and holiday season events that include movie screenings, concerts, Santa appearances, live performances, train rides, and more. These events take place at the Cultural Events Division managed venues: the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
This year's lineup of events features two major concerts at the Amphitheatre that will be free and open to the public -- The Blind Boys of Alabama on November 29 and country superstar Clint Black on December 5, 2015. The holiday classic movies that will be offered this year include "Elf," "The Muppet Christmas Carol," and "A Christmas Story." Most events are free, but a few are ticketed. The highlights of the ticketed events this year are two performances of Handel's Christmas Messiah, Matisyahu's Festival of Light, and Leon Russell Live in Concert, all at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
The Amphitheatre will be open to the public and fully decorated all month long with lights, festive décor, a holiday tree, an Elf Village and festive music. Families are invited to enjoy free train rides, visits with Santa, face-painting and a bounce house during the free holiday events held at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. All free, family-friendly events at the Amphitheatre are presented by Friends of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Free Drive-In Movies will be featured at Anastasia State Park, which is adjacent to the Amphitheatre. The movies are all Christmas classics: "Elf," "A Christmas Story," "The Muppet Christmas Carol," "Christmas Vacation," and "Home Alone."
To further the mission of spreading goodwill throughout St. Johns County, this year’s December To Remember events will coincide with the City of St. Augustine’s holiday food drive during its annual Nights of Lights. December To Remember and Nights of Lights attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to local charities throughout the season.
